“Post Conflict Development in Asia: Reflections, Resilience, and Future Pathways”
General Detail
Over the past twenty years, Aceh has transformed from a region marred by conflict to one that serves as a beacon of hope and recovery. While Aceh’s journey since then offers invaluable lessons for peacebuilding worldwide, it also underscores the complex and ongoing challenges of sustaining long-term peace. Issues such as poverty, unequal access to economic opportunities, healthcare disparities, and social cohesion remain pressing concerns that require collective attention and innovative solutions. The 10th International Conference on Aceh and Indian Ocean Studies (ICAIOS), themed “Post Conflict Development in Asia: Reflections, Resilience, and Future Pathways”, seeks to provide a platform for critical reflection on these challenges and an exploration of strategies for ensuring a resilient and inclusive future for Aceh. Anchored in an interdisciplinary approach, this conference calls on scholars, policymakers, and community leaders to examine the intersection of Aceh’s post-conflict recovery and broader regional and global contexts, particularly within the Indian Ocean framework.
